🍪 Recipe: Sugar-Coated Butter Cookies
🧈 Ingredients:
- 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar (plus extra for coating)
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
👩🍳 Instructions:
- Cream the butter & sugar:
In a bowl, beat the softened butter and 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy. - Add the egg & vanilla:
Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined. - Mix dry ingredients:
In another bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt. - Combine:
Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet mixture. Mix until a soft dough forms. - Shape the cookies:
Roll small balls of dough in sugar. Gently press them with a fork to create the classic ridged pattern. - Bake:
Place on a baking tray and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. - Cool & enjoy!
Let them cool before serving—they get perfectly crisp as they rest.
