Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 4 cups (500g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup (50g) sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 1/4 tsp (1 packet) instant yeast
- 1 cup (240ml) warm milk (about 110°F/43°C)
- 1/4 cup (60g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 large egg
- Sesame seeds (optional)
- 2 tbsp butter for brushing
Instructions:
- Prepare the Dough:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add the softened butter and egg, mixing well.
- Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Knead:
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. Alternatively, use a stand mixer with a dough hook for 5-7 minutes.
- First Rise:
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Shape the Rolls:
- Punch down the dough and divide it into equal portions (about 20-24 pieces). Shape each portion into a smooth ball and place them in a greased baking dish.
- Second Rise:
- Cover the rolls with a towel and let them rise again for 30-45 minutes, or until puffed up.
- Bake:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Brush the rolls with melted butter and sprinkle sesame seeds on top (optional).
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Serve:
- Brush the warm rolls with additional butter for extra shine and flavor. Serve immediately.
Enjoy these delightful dinner rolls warm, and fresh from the oven!
