- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 2-3 tbsp heavy cream or milk
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract

For the Vanilla Cake:
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cream Butter & Sugar: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add Eggs & Vanilla: Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Combine Wet & Dry: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk. Mix until just combined.
- Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool: Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan before frosting.
For the Buttercream Frosting:
- Cream Butter: Beat softened butter until smooth and creamy.
- Add Sugar: Gradually add powdered sugar, one cup at a time, mixing well.
- Add Vanilla & Cream: Stir in vanilla extract and salt. Add heavy cream 1 tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.
