- 8 slices of bread (brioche or white bread preferred)
- 1/2 pound (250g) sliced ham
- 2 cups grated Gruyère or Swiss cheese
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- A pinch of nutmeg
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Béchamel Sauce:
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add flour and whisk until smooth, cooking for 1-2 minutes.
