🍽️ What You’ll Need:
- 4 eggs (room temperature, separated)
- Âľ cup (150 g) sugar
- 1 stick (½ cup / 115 g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- Âľ cup (95 g) all-purpose flour
- 2 cups (500 ml) lukewarm milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)
👩‍🍳 Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease and line an 8×8-inch baking dish or similar size.
- Separate the eggs. Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
- In another bowl, beat the egg yolks with sugar until pale and creamy.
- Mix in the melted butter and vanilla, then slowly add the flour. Stir until smooth.
- Gradually add the lukewarm milk, whisking until fully combined (it will be a very thin batter).
- Gently fold in the egg whites—the batter will be lumpy and slightly foamy. That’s perfect!
- Pour into the prepared baking dish and bake for 50–60 minutes, or until golden brown on top and set in the middle.
- Cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before slicing.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving (optional).
🍮 Tips:
- It’s called “magic” because the batter separates into three distinct layers: a fluffy top, creamy custard center, and firm base.
- For extra flavor, add lemon zest or coconut flakes.
